Peter Bellerby procestoval zeměkouli, jemu samotnému však denně pod rukama vznikají celé světy. Své glóbusy vyrábí ručně.
Cestování prstem po glóbusu může být prožitkem skoro smyslným. Jeden z nejkrásnějších obrazů holandského malíře Johannese Vermeera znázorňuje učence, který se v záplavě měkkého světla dotýká glóbusu se stejnou opatrností a rozrušeností, jako by se poprvé dotkl těla milované osoby. Když bříško prstu hladí mapu po tmavohnědých hrotech pohoří a rozvětvených žilách vodních toků, zeměkoule se pod dotykem ruky poddajně otáčí a malá černá písmena dráždí lidskou představivost – Tasmánie, Severní země, Kokosové ostrovy nebo Lakadivy jsou sice místy se skutečnými zeměpisnými souřadnicemi, dost dobře by ale mohly být dějišti fantastických příběhů…..

Traveling the globe with your finger can be an almost sensual experience. One of the most beautiful paintings by the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer depicts a scholar touching a globe in a flood of soft light with the same care and excitement as if he were touching the body of a loved one for the first time. As the belly of the finger caresses the map over the dark brown peaks of the mountain ranges and the branching veins of the watercourses, the globe submissively turns under the touch of the hand and the small black letters tease the human imagination – Tasmania, the North Country, the Cocos Islands or the Laccadives are indeed places with real geographical coordinates, it would be good enough but they could have been the scene of fantastic stories…..
