Truly a one-of-a-kind edition. This traditionally handcrafted and hand painted floor standing world globe was made exclusively for Harrods by Bellerby & Co Globemakers. A new annual tradition. Once it sells it will no longer be viewable and another will never be made the same.
With a theme of exploration and navigation – land and sea are filled with hand drawn and hand painted illustrations showing Bellerby & Co’s incredible attention to detail and skill. Lost treasures, ships, and constellations can be discovered with every turn.
The modern and sleek base is handcrafted from Walnut in our Brisbane II style – and allows the globe to be smoothly moved and spun from any angle. The globe sits and spins within a solid hand-engraved Bronze meridian. The globe itself is a modern and up to date world map as always, the ocean a warm soothing blue paired with a warm brown shaded land. Handcrafted by wetting and stretching paper gores from pole to pole, the colour and detail is then hand painted in layers of detail.
This globe is available to be viewed from next month at Harrods in the Arcade – Lower Ground Floor. This will be their Bespoke Gifts section. Check back for launch dates.
