Inspired by Sophia and Jason Hirsh’s love of travel, we are delighted to introduce you to the Hirsh London X Bellerby & Co Globemakers collaboration.
The globe with a Champagne ocean pays homage to the fascinating civilisations that have come before us including some of The Hirsh Family’s favourite wonders of the world, depicted in beautiful hand painted illustrations. From Viking Longships to the pyramids of Egypt, St Basil’s Cathedral in Russia and the Great Wall of China, celebrate the diversity of the world’s civilisations with us.
Shown last is the Hirsh Animal Kingdom Globe – a celebration of the incredible wildlife found all over the world. From the majestic elephants in Africa to the serene dolphins of Florida and even a few creatures from folklore.
The globes were designed by Sophia and Jason Hirsh during England’s first lockdown in March 2020, with help from their children – a unique home-schooling geography project! The collaboration currently consists of five globes, each telling a different story revealed by unique illustrations.
The globes sit beautifully on a base made of painted oak and sterling silver. The base features our usual innovative roller bearing mechanism which effortlessly allows 360 degree rotation of the globe in all directions.
