You can book in with a generic deposit based on any sized globe and have a gift card sent. The card represents what is to come –
You can then design the globe and surprise the recipient.
Or you can allow the recipient to have the unique experience of designing their own globe. It is so rare these days to be able to be part of the process of creating something one-of-a-kind.
We will work with the recipient to choose the colouring, base style, base finish, and options of added personalisation.
This is a really fun process for anyone who loves to travel or has a unique family history. They can add travel routes, highlight important cities, and have us illustrate their favourite places in the world. Also perfect for history buffs who might want a globe themed on their interest and passions like famous explorers (The Silk Route can be plotted, Drake’s circumnavigation, Magellan, Zheng He, Captain Cook Vasco da Gama, Lewis and Clark, Leif Erikson, Roald Amundsen and his Northwest Passage journey, Columbus or anyone else …) –
Since it is a gift you might want to surprise them with what is engraved in the base – or let them choose their own engraving.
The gift card has a hand-painted strip of the map we use to make our globes (a gore). You can choose the colouring of the gore as well as the part of the world showing. Choose any city / country that you want us to feature and any colour you see across all sizes.
We can add a hand written note from us – or a hand written note from you if you want us to send it direct to the recipient. The card otherwise has a little intro to the company and what the strip of the map represents and you can add your own message to the card.
After you give the gift. You can get in touch when you are then ready to start the process – or give us the recipients email to start the process at a set date.
You can also choose to change the choice in sizing of the globe after booking, any questions just let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate.
