Sometimes customers order flat maps to frame / something special to place on a wall. Sets of gores are what we use to make traditionally handcrafted globes. This is in comparison to traditional flat maps which are projections (distortions) in order to take what would be on a 3d sphere and make it a continuous flat map.
Maps can be customised with travel routes and illustrations just like our globes – personalisation. Colouring here is Gagarin with an optional wash of colour in the negative space between and around the gores.
