Your globe is sealed with a resin, making it safe to touch and spin. Though designed to be interacted with, keeping it in the right environment will ensure it can be enjoyed for many years. We especially recommend, as with any piece of art, keeping it away from direct sources of sunlight and avoiding exposure to extremes of temperatures.
Please dust your globe periodically with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. In the event something spills onto your globe, we recommend using a soft, damp cloth to slowly remove the spill. Do not use any cleaning products or sprays as this may harm the protective coating of your globe. Your globe’s base has been treated with a protective wax, oil, or varnish depending on the style.
Finally, as they age, it is natural for globes with a matte finish to develop a subtle polished lustre and for gloss finish to soften into a more satin finish. Similarly, the appearance of materials used for your globe’s base are also expected to develop over time.
