Sneak peek of our “Egg Globe” for the Elephant Family ‘Little Egg Hunt‘.
Handcrafted and hand painted, this Egg Globe is truly one of a kind. Made to the same expert standards and same traditional techniques of our spherical globes! Paper gores have been carefully wet and stretched across the surface, and the land and sea hand painted and finely shaded in many washes of watercolour. The map has up to date and detailed cartography.
The style of painting was inspired as a result of one of our extremely lucky clients who visited the International Space Station and had the awe-inspiring view looking down from far at our delicate and beautiful Earth. The Egg Globe is Earth from space, without borders being the focus – what your eye is first drawn to is where land is a lush green or where you see a huge desert or mountain range. It helps reminds us that we are merely brief custodians of our amazing planet.
Our egg will be auctioned at a culmination event in the presence of Their Majesties and Elephant Family donors and supporters. Here’s hoping we help raise lots with our fantastic handmade and hand painted Egg Globe.
The legendary Big Egg Hunt is returning to London once again. This time around, the hunt will consist of over 200 painted eggs made of recycled materials, displayed in iconic London locations for six weeks throughout Easter 2025. The event is set to take London by storm in the most creative way possible whilst, at the same time, raising vital funds to protect and conserve the world’s most endangered animals.
Things start with the Little Egg Hunt this Easter 2024. 12 eggs (including ours) are currently being created by some of the most exciting modern artists and designers. The exhibition will take place in the heart of Chelsea.
It was an honour to work with the Elephant Family for both the 2012 and 2014 Egg Hunts… & as our company has grown we are excited to show our new edition!
Each globe and base is made bespoke to order and we work with you to design your one of a kind globe exactly as you would like it.
