In Karlsruhe, Germany there is currently an installation of illuminated globes above the water at K-Punkt. It looks beautiful! According to the official city Instagram page…. it symbolises the Silk Road.
Karlsruhe is the second-largest city in the state of Baden-Württemberg, in southwest Germany, near the Franco-German border. It has a population of 296,033. Karlsruhe Palace was built in 1715, and the city is now the seat of the two highest courts in Germany.
The light installation is by Rainer Kehres. One of the reasons is the 300th birthday of the Town. As a so called “Stadtteilprojekt” – it is installed between the City and the “Südstadt”, near the “Staatstheater”.
