Always a popular choice – the 36cm (14 inch) diameter Albion desktop globe – shown on London Plane Wood.
Glacial Blue is a colder blue compared to some of our other options (Regency, Marine, Blue Cassini, Gagarin) and has a lovely shaded land in a warm brown in contrast. The ocean gets lighter as it nears the coast.
The globe spins 360 degrees in a fluid motion by hand and can be easily lifted from its base.
Each globe we make is bespoke to order and we ship worldwide from London.
Sizing : The sizes we create are 22cm, 36cm, 50cm, 65cm, 80cm or 127cm diameter. The styles are either : a Desktop Globe (22cm and 36cm) or a Floor Standing Globe (50cm, 65cm, 80cm, 127cm) and we do both modern or traditional bases. We also have modern metal bases for the larger globes and options of entirely bespoke designs.

Personalisation : Included in the commission of a 22cm globe are 10 cartography edits and 20 with the 36cm and larger globes.
By cartography edits we mean edits to the text on the map. This includes highlighting special places in a differing colour, ie. changing Paris to red or adding in places that might not otherwise be on the map, i.e. a small town or village that is not already on our cartography. You can add a quote or names to the ocean, add in your school, name of your home or anything else of importance to you.
Regarding the cartography – capitals and major cities are on – the cartography on the 36cm globes and larger being much more extensive than the 22cm.
Text edits and illustrations are optional but most clients choose to add some small detail if not many!
Illustrations can also be added and are quoted based on detail. We hand drawn each illustrations, place them into the cartography land or sea – and then hand paint them once they are on the globe. Examples of previous requests can be seen > here <
Mocking up process : If you choose to have personalisation we will create a “mock up” for your approval before your choices are finalised on the globe itself. You will receive a digital document to see and feedback on. Meaning you have a chance to make changes or further additions. Nothing is set in stone until you are ready to proceed to the next step and i will be your point of contact from start to finish across all aspects.
Booking In : You do not have to make decisions on personalisation or even colour before booking in. Usually i recommend deciding on a size first and you will work with me to finalise all the other choices from there.
The process starts with simply booking in with a generic 50% deposit on the size of globe that you know you want – this can be done directly via our website. We will be in touch with next steps from there.
