The Albion’s sleek profile allows us to hand-turn the most select hardwoods each with a unique character and intricate grain.
This exclusive collection features strictly limited edition runs which means we can showcase rarer woods whilst respecting their origin.
Bog Oak is not a specific species, but is rather a term that designates Oak that has been buried in a peat bog for hundreds or sometimes thousands of years. The extremely low oxygen conditions of the bog protect the wood from normal decay, while the underlying peat provides acidic conditions where iron salts and other minerals react with the tannins in the wood, gradually giving it a distinct dark brown to almost black colour.
Bog Oak is essentially in the early stages of fossilisation.
We sourced a small amount of 5,000 year old Bog Oak. This English Oak has been salvaged and in very limited supply.
